The whole night was a true exercise in hygge, a term that is integral to Danish culture. Tricky to translate into other languages its believed to be the reason why Denmark has been named the happiest country in the world for the last 40 years. It can best be explained as a cosy atmosphere where all your senses are evoked by feeling good. Good company, friends, candlelights, it’s a time or place where you have no worries, you are just really content.
